Your frontier is
our
focus

RIVIR is a New Zealand IoT system company building hybrid satellite-cellular connectivity for your remote, mobile, and critical industrial assets.

The RIVIR System blends cellular and the Starlink Direct to Cell satellite network, so you stay in command through coverage gaps, intermittent service, and network outages.

Our vision

Oil fields, ecological stations, electrical grids, mobile assets. This critical infrastructure keeps economies running, far from cell coverage.

For decades, the only way to know what was happening at these sites was to send someone out there. That's expensive, slow, and dangerous.

By 2031, no industrial asset is out of reach. The RIVIR System, built using the Starlink D2C satellite network, gives you back command, anywhere.

Our history

2020

Swarm arrives

The RIVIR team forms after deploying some of the world's first IoT projects on the Swarm LEO satellite network.

  • Built the first Swarm gateway hardware and firmware
  • Piloted across dairy, substations, and gold mines
  • Monitored water quality at NZ's largest mine
2021 - 2024

NDA with SpaceX

SpaceX acquires Swarm. RIVIR goes under NDA to design the first purpose-built IoT gateway for Starlink Direct-to-Cell.

  • Sessionless gateway architecture designed for D2C
  • Modbus gateway prototype built for oil and gas
  • First live IoT data trials on Starlink D2C, in NZ

Live in Canada

RIVIR signs a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) agreement with Rogers, enabling hybrid cellular and satellite IoT data coverage across Canada, unlocking the Starlink D2C network.

  • First published IoT data plans for Starlink D2C
  • Pilots underway in oil and gas, enviro, and EV
  • Hybrid cellular and satellite on a single SIM
2026

Going global

RIVIR is expanding MVNO partnerships with operators worldwide and bringing new gateways to market across key sectors.

  • MVNO negotiations underway across key markets
  • Modbus, CAN bus, and new gateways in development
  • Signed with international technology distributors
